A quick news report on what’s been happening and what’s coming up over the next month.
EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN VANUATU
What a blessing to have outstanding new Staff Development happening in Vanuatu! Recent teams from the Newcastle area have initiated programs which have impacted and enlarged our wonderful teaching staff. School teams from New Zealand and the Hunter region have also been a great blessing. Our Port Vila Principal Lloyd and Senior Team leader Michelle were recently sponsored by St Philips Christian College in Newcastle to attend the St Philips network’s mid-year Education Week. What an experience for them both, mixing with 500 other school staff members! They were great ambassadors for our work in Vanuatu.
Jon and Abi, Alyssa, Jeremy and James are doing well. They have all settled well in Port Vila. Alyssa and Jeremy are very happy at Port Vila International School. Jon is in Tanna Island right now, with a great friend Nathan from Port Stephens, pouring the concrete foundations and floors for the new Loaniel Community Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to bless that community with a new facility after they lost so much in the last big Cyclone “Pam”.
The new Community Centre and stage we are building for the Freswota Community in Port Vila will commence next week. This will be such a vital contribution to the community. The project has already received great favour with government and community leaders. The “ground breaking” ceremony will be on the National TV News and front page of the Newspaper. All the glory will go to the Lord!!
EVENTS
Vanuatu is in an amazing place spiritually. There is the sense of revival and renewal everywhere. Our program for this year is huge. From Tuesday 5 Sept through Sunday 10 Sept we are hosting a week of NATION CHANGING events. The Churches of Port Vila are wonderfully supportive and active in these, our LIFECHANGER Events.
The FACE to FACE Presence of God Convention (Sept 5-7) is a three-day worship experience for the 1000 delegates.
The MIRACLE CRUSADE is on again (Sept 8-10) This is a massive GOSPEL event. Up to 18,000 will be in attendance per night.
A wonderful TEAM of people from Churches here in the Hunter district will work alongside Evangelist TIM HALL in touching the lives of thousands of people, for both of these events. This team will be out on the streets and into the community every day, stopping for the one person, just as Jesus did. Working together with the Lord to bring people to relationship with the Father, praying for their needs, ministering to them in Jesus’ name.
PHILIPPINES
THEN, we head to the PHILIPPINES Sept 25 to Oct 6, hosting two major Gospel Miracle Crusades with TIM HALL in Calbayog, Samar Island and Tacloban, Leyte Island. These huge events are now well into the preparation stages. We are expecting to reach tens of thousands with the Gospel. We are mobilising the Churches in these cities for the greatest spiritual revival that they have ever seen. A team of 35 volunteers will be joining from the USA and Australia to assist with ministry and practical needs.
So much work goes into these events. But a harvest always requires hard work. PLEASE PRAY for all of these Outreaches.
Please pray for God’s awesome presence at each of the events and for the outstanding world-class worship team from Hillsong Newcastle.
Please pray for Helen and me, as we now head to Port Vila to finalise everything for the events. I will be in meetings with national political and spiritual leaders, talking on TV and radio, in newspapers and on the streets preparing the way for the Lord!!
