Welcome To Liberty People!

This week, Liberty For The Nations turns 25 years old. We’re so excited, we’re celebrating with an open night of thanksgiving and worship tomorrow night! There’ll be live music, supper and great company, and if you’d like to come along you are very welcome. You’ll find details at the end of this post.

So, why are we now using this new name, Liberty People? It’s simple: Liberty has always been a group of friends who work together to bring the kingdom of God into the lives of needy people around the world. It’s built on the contribution of individuals, churches and schools who believe in the Gospel and its power to change the world. We’re here to boldly shine God’s light into the darkest and most forgotten of places.

The name ‘Liberty People’ is simply more reflective of who we are. ‘Liberty’ is the fruit of our communion with the spirit of God (2 Cor 3:17). Our freedom in Christ is a light to the world, and it’s never been needed more than now. As followers and servants of Christ, his ‘People’ are the bearers of his priceless light, love and freedom — we are Liberty People! The name is beautifully simple, and we hope it makes everyone involved feel more a part of the work. We wanted Liberty to sound less like an organisation, and more like a group of friends serving God together. That’s who we are.

Along with a new name, we’ve started using more modern ways of staying close to our treasured friends around the world. Through this website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our podcast, we’ll start sharing more of what God is doing through our collective work. Return to Home to connect with any of these. We’re not interested in advertising or self-promotion using these tools. We’ll simply share amazing stories of God’s goodness as we experience them.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us on the journey so far. The Holy Spirit has always been the rudder of our ship, steering us into new, uncharted waters, and you have always been the friends and crew to help us faithfully follow his lead. As Liberty People, we’ll simply ‘press on toward the goal, for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.’ (Phil 3:14).
